Week 1 of 6: JACL's Teacher Training Workshops

Our Teacher Training Workshops are one of our most powerful tools in creating positive social change. We organize workshops for educators all over the country to learn about the WWII Japanese American incarceration and the historic contributions of Asian Americans. We incorporate lessons on racial bias today including post 9/11 discrimination to Muslim Americans and stopping AAPI hate now.

"These workshops are a dynamic tool because when you educate a teacher, you educate thousands of students whose knowledge pays forward for multiple generations."

- Lisa Shiosaki Olsen, Educator & National Board Member

Join the First Virtual JACL National Education Committee
Teacher Training Workshop!

The JACL National Education Committee is hosting its first virtual teacher training workshop, titled "The Japanese American Experience Curriculum and Resource Guide EdCamp-Style Teacher Training". In this training, you will collaborate with other teachers from around the country to facilitate the curriculum and resource guide, presented by the Japanese American Citizens League, in your classroom. The goal of this teacher training is for you to be able to implement at least one lesson in your current classroom using the relevant resources and strategies gained from this training.
