The Twin Cities chapter was formed in 1947 under the name, United Citizens League. The name was changed to JACL when requested by national in 1949.

Besides scholarships, the chapter has done an annual summer picnic and banquet. Its major fundraiser is running a bazaar booth at the Festival of Nations. It also does the Origami and Ribbon Fish demonstration booth at the festival.

The board meets monthly to plan these events. One of our most active youth members is Leilani Savitt, who has held national positions and is currently the Midwest District Council Governor.
