MIDWEST:Recognizing that travel costs are increasing and that the economy has not yet picked up, the JACL Midwest District Council (MDC) is offering to help fund youth participants' travel costs and registration fees.  These limited requests are honored on a first come, first served basis and are available to all participants.  You DO NOT need to be a member of JACL to be eligible for this funding.

• Participants who are traveling within a 50-mile radius of Macalester College are eligible to receive FULL REGISTRATION FEE reimbursement.   
• Participants who are traveling from outside a 50-mile radius of Macalester are eligible to receive 50% of their TRAVEL COSTS (airfare, train fare, mileage) and 50% of their REGISTRATION FEE reimbursed.

To be eligible for funding from MDC:

• You must reside within the Midwest Council District, which includes the states of Illinois, Ohio, Missouri, Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, New Mexico, Texas, Nebraska, Kansas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Alabama.
• You must have registered for the Conference at the time of your request.
• You must attend the Conference for its full duration from Friday, June 26 to Sunday, June 28.

To request funding, please submit the following information via email or fax (773-728-7231) to JACL Ford Fellow Jacqueline Mac at jacl.fellow@gmail.com:

• First and Last Name
• Address Mailing Address, if different from the above
• Phone Number
• Email Address
• If traveling from outside the 50-mile radius from Macalester, submit proof of your paid travel information (Typed copies will not be accepted, please forward the actual itinerary or invoice with the amount and manner in which you paid)
  • If you are driving, please submit the address from which you will be driving and save your gas receipts.  You will be reimbursed according to the number of miles you've driven with proof that you have driven (from your receipts) at the IRS mileage reimbursement rate (which is $0.55 per mile).

You do not need to submit your registration invoice as we can attain that from your registration records.

EAST COAST:  If you reside within the Eastern District (these states: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Rhode Island, Virginia, West Virginia, the District of Columbia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida), you can qualify for up to $200 for travel funding.  Please contact EDC Governor Kristine Minami at kmiyeko@gmail.com.
