Kickin’ Off the Conference!

The JACL National Youth/Student Council welcomes you to Macalester College and opens the conference with a casual dinner, a stunning video presentation introducing the National Youth/Student Council to the participants, a speed ice cream social / icebreaker session, a night event in which participants will be able to meet individual District Youth Representatives through exquisitely-themed room parties.

The ULTIMATE Challenge

Kick-start Saturday morning with a series of team-building activities that will create stronger ties between you, other conference participants, and the National Youth/Student Council.  These exercises, courtesy of Omega Phi Omega, Inc. (aka “The Kuyas”), will show you the spirit of cooperation that our conference hopes to achieve and inspire you to create when you leave us.

*Plan to be outdoors and in your gym gear for this activity. Be sure to pack something you can get dirty in.

Meishi Exchange Luncheon

“Meishi” meaning “business card,” gives participants the opportunity to utilize networking tools acquired from conference workshops in order to meet and gain useful knowledge from working professionals from various fields, as well as college and professional admissions officers.  The true art of networking will come together in fun-filled luncheon that will provide you with the capabilities to be confident in meeting individuals who are currently working in your future career.

Sayonara Banquet

In a more formal affair, the Sayonara Banquet will be the icing on one of the most successful conferences in the National Youth/Student Council’s history. As a participant, you will be a part of the finishing touch on the 2009 JACL National Youth Conference.  The Sayonara Banquet will be held in a beautiful, glass-windowed ballroom that captures the real essence of community and culture.

Showing Off Your Skills

After the completion of the Sayonara Banquet, the National Youth/Student Council and other conference participants will have the opportunity to learn what you’re about and your passions through an entertaining and energy-packed talent show.  This is the chance to show everyone what you got and that you can bring it!

If you'd like to be a part of the talent show, please submit an auditions packet (WORD) (PDF).
