JACL Convention to Host “Nikkei Conference” to Discuss the State of Japanese America, Open to General Public
This year’s convention will feature a one-day conference on the Saturday July 9, 2011 portion of the 42nd JACL National Convention. Co-hosted with the California Japanese American Community Leadership Council (CJACLC), there will be a variety of workshops made available to convention attendees and the general public to address key issues that face the Japanese American community.

JACL to Recognize Outstanding Local, National Leaders of the Asian Pacific American Community at Convention
For their tireless dedication to the Asian Pacific American Community, the 42nd JACL National Convention plans to honor Traci Kato-Kiriyama, Alan Nishio, and Paul Osaki at the Awards Luncheon on Friday July 8, 2011. The Culmination Banquet on Saturday July 9, 2011 will feature a program recognizing Lt. Daniel Choi, Lisa Hasegawa, and Father Vien Nguyen. Honorees will be given a speaking opportunity, so don’t miss this opportunity!
